AI-generated summary

Angela Parragi died from complications of anorexia nervosa at Canberra Hospital. She was under a Community Care Order at the time. The coroner found no basis that the quality of care, treatment or supervision under the order contributed to her death. However, the coroner identified a systemic issue: limited access to inpatient specialist beds for severe eating disorders in ACT. The key clinical lesson is the importance of adequate specialist mental health infrastructure for eating disorder management. Improved pathways between ACT and NSW Health for accessing inpatient specialist care are recommended to ensure patients with severe eating disorders receive appropriate level of care when needed.
